Dare Devils
National Chicle produced their Dare Devils card series in about 1936. There were 24 cards in the set.
This interesting vintage card set depicts various persons in different hair-raising situations, from soldiers and policemen to cowboys and criminals. The artwork on each card is vivid and exciting.
The card fronts feature full-color painted artwork surrounded by a white border, while at the bottom left is the card set title in red, and beside that the card caption in yellow, with the card number.
The card backs are thick with text, repeating the card number at the top left and telling the story represented by the card's image in small lettering. At the bottom are the words 'Many other official and true stories of Dare Devils to follow'.
Value: Single cards from this set in Excellent condition can bring between $25.00 and $40.00 each, with certain cards (such as #5, Billy the Kid) bringing more. The full set of 24 commands somewhere between $850.00 and $1,200.00.
