Garrison's Gorillas
Leaf Brands released their Garrison's Gorillas card set in 1967. There were 72 cards in the set, each measuring 2-1/2" x 3-7/16".
Garrison's Gorillas was a World War II drama on ABC that lasted for only one season; but for many kids, it provided an
hour's worth of pulse-pounding war drama every week during its brief run.
The card fronts of this set featured a black and white photograph surrounded by a thick white border. The card's caption lay within
a black band just at the bottom of the photo. (This is identical to Leaf's
Star Trek cards from the same year.)
The card backs were equally plain, with the card number and the set title in a black band at the top, followed by the card caption
and a block of text below (with a light silhouette of two arms holding up a rifle against the white background). Below these are
the copyright matter.
Value: Considered somewhat plain, this card set is nevertheless somewhat difficult to complete. Individual cards can often be found
for about $2.00 each, with a full set running about $160.00.
